SUBSTANCE: invention relates to combustible material engineering, namely to methods of determination of modes of ignition and speed of burning of explosive filling of ammunition at utilisation by burning out. The method of determination of the modes of ignition and speed of burning of explosive filling of ammunition at utilisation by burning out consists in preparation of side and back armoured sample explosive filling with burning wall position sensors, fixing of the sample horizontally in the open combustion chamber, ignition at the moment of contact of the loose solid heat carrier, registration of signals from the burning wall position sensors in time, fastening along back end faces of the explosive filling sample and the external guiding bush, fixing of the sample in the open protective chamber, directing of the lens of the video recorder in the protective chamber towards the surface of burning sample, preparation in the generator of pulse flows of the dose of the solid loose heat carrier, measurement of temperature of the heat carrier by the temperature sensor built in a clamp of the generator of pulse flows, throwing of the dose as a pulse dense flow of the heat carrier vertically up with inward flow towards the burning surface, registration of time from the moment of contact of the heat carrier until flash on the burning surface by the video recorder and time from the burning wall position sensors by the sample thickness.

EFFECT: creation of the method of determination of the modes of ignition and speeds of burning of material of explosive filling.
