FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in diesel engines of motor vehicles. A diesel engine (1) of a motor vehicle has a system (50) of waste gas recirculation as per the first route and a system (60) of waste gas recirculation as per the second route that is longer than the first route of the system (50) and a nitrogen oxide catcher (30). The nitrogen oxide catcher (30) is located prior to a particulate filter (31), operates on poor mixtures of the engine and is placed in the common outer housing (33) with the particulate filter (31). The nitrogen oxide catcher (30) has a carrier of a catalytic neutralising agent with a thin coating containing catalytic agents that serve as active sections for binding of nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gases so that they can be caught in the nitrogen oxide catcher (30), and additionally containing other catalytic agents capable of reacting with hydrocarbons and carbon oxide, which are contained in the exhaust gases, and oxidising them to carbon dioxide and water.
EFFECT: technical result consists in the simpler layout of a recirculation system.
