FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed system comprises ICE with inlet and outlet manifolds, HP compressor with variable-geometry HP turbine connected to HP compressor to be drive thereby. Note here that variable-geometry HP turbine may be drive by first portion of exhaust gases from exhaust manifold. Note also that HP compressor may compress sucked air and feed compressed air into inlet manifold. Proposed system comprises also LP turbo compressor with variable-geometry LP turbine connected thereto to be drive thereby. Note that variable-geometry LP turbine may be drive by second portion of exhaust manifold gases. Mind that LP compressor may compress third portion of exhaust gas and feed third portion of compressed gas into inlet manifold. Note here that said first and second portions of exhaust gas differ. Invention covers also the method of operating aforesaid engine.
EFFECT: reduced emission in various operating conditions.
