FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to electric engineering and may be used mainly at maintenance and repair of electric traction machines. Analysis of statistic data on reliability of units and parts of electric locomotive equipment in operating conditions showed that major share of faults falls within electric traction machines in result of insulation breakdown. Plant for drying winding insulation of electric traction machines comprises air heating unit, unit monitoring insulation state against its resistance and heated air supply unit. The air heating unit is equipped with tubular electric heaters controlled by programmable heat regulator with feedback loop against temperature sensor connected to the network. The unit monitoring insulation state against its resistance comprises megohmmeter connected by measuring wires to winding of a traction electric machine with signal sent to heat regulator in order to reswitch the program and its stage. The heated air supply unit is equipped with electric motor and fan controlled by programmable frequency controller with feedback loop against temperature sensor, flexible tube with reflecting accessory installed at its end.

EFFECT: process drying of winding insulation for electric traction machines by stages and timely switching off of air heat and supply system in housing of an electric traction machine.
