FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: suggested method for drying of electric machine and locomotive equipment insulation includes their forced blowdown by air stream, thermal heating, monitoring of operating temperature and insulation state. Drying is carried out in phases. At the first phase surface layers of the insulation are dried by air stream heated up to 90-100°С temperature, at the second phase winding insulation is dried by air stream at lower temperature of 50-60°С. At the third phase drying is carried out by air stream without heating until value of insulation resistance is achieved as specified by repair rules.

EFFECT: creation of the most optimum mode of insulation drying providing its integrity.
