FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: cooling tower knockout drum contains grid of vertical plates with U-profile, having outermost straight vertical sections, connected with them and with each other middle straight sections inclined relatively to the vertical plane, in which the outermost sections are located, and along edge of each outermost section there is corrugation smoothly interfaced with the section, the corrugation convex side looks to deflection of the U-profile. Each plate of the U-profile is made with several connecting elements, each of them is symmetrical relatively to the cross-section and is made by the inclined plat walls interfaced with the interfacing area between the straight inclined sections creating the tapering inside profile of channel plate. To the narrow section of the convergent channel the flat walls adjoin, they are parallel to the cross-section and interface with straight inclined sections of the plate profile; specified flat walls are connected with each other by the flat base that is perpendicular to the cross-section of the plate; the flat base is made with the connecting sleeve directed inside the U-profile of the plate and located between the outermost straight vertical sections of the profile, between each other the U-profile plates are connected by means of the distance sleeves installed in each connecting element.

EFFECT: simplified design of the knockout drum and increased efficiency of water drips catching.
