SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices of transmission of three-dimensional video signal to a terminal device. The method contains stages of determination of the depth metadata indicating the depths used in 3D video image data, generation of 3D video image signal containing these 3D video images, inclusion of depth metadata into 3D video image signal to make it possible for the terminal 3D device to retrieve depth metadata, provide auxiliary data, locate auxiliary data at the auxiliary depth depending on the retrieved metadata for display of auxiliary data in a combination with 3D video image data.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of combining of auxiliary data and 3D video content.
