FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to protective coating of steel parts operated to high loads at increased temperatures and aggressive media effects. This method comprises cleaning of the article and vacuum chamber in atmosphere of inert gas. Ion-beam etching and ion-plasma nitration of article surface are performed. Coating is made by physical deposition from vapour phase. Note here that additional ion-beam etching is performed after ion-plasma nitration. Note also that at ion-beam etching, surface is processed by pulsed magnetron discharge of 0.03-0.1 kW/cm2 power. Coating is produced by, first, application of micro ply of titanium and chromium with total depth of 0.5-0.7 mcm consisting of 10-100 nm deep nanoplies. Then, nitrogen is fed into the chamber to make micro plies of titanium and chromium nitrides with total depth of 2.8-3.3 mcm consisting of 10-100 nm deep nanoplies. Note also that at ion-beam etching, surface is processed by pulsed magnetron discharge of 0.1-8 kW/cm2 power.
EFFECT: longer life.
