FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS). A nickel-chromium thiospinel is obtained via SHS from a mixture of powdered nickel sulphide NiS with addition of chromium powder and crystalline sulphur, taken to stoichiometric composition of NiCr2S4 with 5% excess sulphur in an air atmosphere.
EFFECT: simple method, high efficiency, low power consumption, fast and environmentally friendly process.
