FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a metal sulphide includes grinding and pressing starting materials, igniting, burning and synthesis of sulphides in burning conditions in an air atmosphere. The starting materials used are a powdered mixture of metal and crystalline sulphur, taken in accordance with the stoichiometry of reaction with 5% excess sulphur.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a wide range of transition metal sulphides using a simple method.
