FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a toner developing electrostatic image for development of the latent electrostatic image formed by an electrophotographic method, and to the method of electrostatic recording and to the method of electrostatic printing; and the image forming device, the image forming method, and the process cartridge, in which the toner developing electrostatic image is used. The claimed group of inventions comprises the toner developing electrostatic image, and the image forming device, and the process cartridge, which comprise the above toner developing electrostatic image. At that the toner developing electrostatic image comprises toner base particles, each of which comprises a binder resin and a colorant; and external additive, at that each of the toner base particles has protrusions on its surface, the average value of the lengths of the long sides of the protrusions is 0.1 mcm or more but less than 0.5 mcm, and the standard deviation of the lengths of the long sides of the protrusions is 0.2 or less, the degree of coverage with the protrusions of the surface of each of the toner base particles is from 10% to 90%, and the external additive comprises an external additive (A) which is fine inorganic particles each of which comprises silicone oil.
EFFECT: obtaining the toner developing electrostatic image which does not contaminate the charging unit, a developing unit, a photoconductor, and an intermediate transfer element, which can provide the formation of high quality image having a proper optical density with a much lower background contamination even after repeated printing over a long time, and which can provide stably the image formation with high reproducibility on any recording medium without blurring or spots due to scattering.
