FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to force measurement equipment, namely to methods for determining tensions of long components, for example metal wires and wire ropes, fibre-optic cables, polymer ropes, fittings, etc. According to the measuring method of tension of long components, a measurement section is formed in an arbitrary place of the long component by fixation on it of two loads at fixed distance from each other. Tension force acting between the fixed loads is determined by the following formula: T=4f2l2ρS, where f - basic oscillation frequency of the measurement section, Hz; ρ - material density of the long component, kg/m3; S - cross-sectional area of the long component, m2; l - length of the measurement section, m.
EFFECT: improvement of measurement accuracy of tension of long components.
