FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes reducing a modifying metal - silver and removing impurities formed during reduction, wherein reduction of silver ions is carried out in a silver salt solution in ethylene glycol in the presence of copper powder and a carboxylic acid with 4-10 carbon atoms, with molar ratio of the carboxylic acid to silver of 1-4.6:1, weight ratio of ethylene glycol to copper of 7-18:1 and process temperature of 20-80°C.
EFFECT: obtaining silver-modified powdered copper which does not contain copper oxide impurities.
