FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: titanium alloy is melted for set time period by induction melting in cold crucible 5, and melt is supplied to cold hearth 10. High-density inclusions (8) are separated by precipitation in the cold hearth (10) by melted titanium bath (6) surface blowing by the plasma jet 11 or by bath surface exposure by electronic beam. Melted titanium alloy is supplied to the crystalliser (20) to produce the titanium ingot 30.
EFFECT: improved quality of the titanium ingot, and reliability of its use in engineering.
