FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used in the production of Ti-Al alloy with low oxygen content. The method is realized in a water-cooled copper vessel, melting of a Ti-Al alloy containing not less than 40 wt.% Al and an alloy material consisting of a titanium material and aluminum material is performed, moreover, this alloy material contains oxygen in a total amount of 0.1 wt.% or more, and deoxidation is carried out by exposure to an atmosphere with a pressure of at least 1.33 Pa.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain an Ti-Al alloy with a low oxygen content when using the initial low-grade titanium material with a high oxygen content, even without creating high vacuum.
