SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, particularly antenna engineering, and an onboard short-wave antenna of a mobile object can be used as a transmitting non-directional antenna for operating with both ionospheric and surface waves in collaboration with a short-wave medium-power radio station mounted onboard the mobile object. The technical result of the onboard short-wave antenna of a mobile object is its high efficiency in surface wave mode and eliminating telltale signs that the mobile object is fitted with the antenna. To this end, the onboard short-wave antenna of a mobile object consists of an intermediate exciter (PrV)1, made from two parallel-connected flat-topped conductors, mounted vertically and in parallel to the lateral surfaces of the mobile object. The projection of the periphery of each flat-topped conductor is inscribed within the area of the lateral surface of the mobile object. The middle part of the top surface 3 of the mobile object is dielectric and the peripheral parts are metallic. Shielding elements are placed over the horizontal part of each flat-toped conductor. One end of the PrV1 is connected to an adjustment and matching unit 9 and the other to a discrete reactive load unit. Range operation of the antenna with both ionospheric and surface waves is provided by varying the distribution of current amplitude values along the PrV1. High efficiency of the antenna is achieved by exciting the housing of the mobile object.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of the antenna.
