FIELD: physics, atomic power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear reactor core formation. Disclosed is a system for moving fuel assemblies in a travelling wave nuclear reactor, comprising electrical circuits designed to determine the required shape of the combustion wave in multiple nuclear fission subassemblies, as well as to determine movement of the selected multiple subassemblies. The subassemblies are moved radially and helically. A nuclear reactor having said system is also disclosed.
EFFECT: improved fuel burnup.
