SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fast reactors with a neutron-fissile wave. The invention describes a nuclear fission reactor, methods of operating a nuclear fission reactor and methods of controlling excess reactivity in a nuclear fission reactor. A method of controlling excess reactivity includes fission of nuclear fuel and fertile fissile material in the central area of a core, rearranging the assembly with fissile and fertile material to form a standing wave of reproducing the fissile material and fission of the nuclear fuel.
