FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser engineering. The optical cavity of a radiator based on metal vapour and compounds thereof includes two or more coaxial gas-discharge tubes such that the cavity mirrors are optically coupled with each other through the volume of the gas-discharge tubes, each of said tubes having its own active medium based on metal vapour or compounds thereof, wherein the active media and materials of the exit mirror and the windows of the gas-discharge tubes are mutually transparent for the generated wavelengths, and the electrodes of each tube are electrically connected to the output of its pulsed high-voltage power supply.
EFFECT: increasing the number and range of generation wavelengths by using multiple active media in the optical cavity.
