PULSED CHEMICAL ELEMENT VAPOR LASER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2230409 C2

FIELD: laser engineering. SUBSTANCE: laser has cavity-accommodated discharge tube; high-voltage power supply; two selector switches each affording change-over speed of at least 100 ms, one trigger pulse generator, two delay lines, two capacitors, and shorting-out component such as inductance coil or resistor. Both electrodes of discharge tube are electrically interconnected through mentioned shorting-out component; both capacitors are connected in parallel with discharge tube cathode; plus output of high-voltage power supply is electrically connected to first capacitor. Output of each selector switch is electrically connected in parallel with discharge tube cathode through one of capacitors and its input is grounded. Trigger pulse generator is electrically connected to input of each delay line and output of each of the latter is connected to control input of respective selector switch. One lead of additional inductance coil is electrically connected through charging diode to second selector switch and its other lead is connected in parallel with main input of each selector switch, with discharge tube anode, and with minus output of high-voltage power supply. Additional inductance coil rating is equal to or higher than inductance of laser discharge circuit. EFFECT: simplifier design, reduced mass and size of laser. 4 cl, 1 dwg
