FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: beam of relativistic ions is obtained and accelerated, then this beam irradiates and destructs atomic nuclei of deeply subcritical target, the flow of secondary particles, including neutrons, is obtained, by means of these particles the nuclear fission of nuclei of isotopes of heavy chemical elements is performed at which nuclear energy is released, condition of the target is monitored which has the sizes providing transfer to it of kinetic energy of the beam and the flow of secondary particles and the duration of accumulation and replacement of products of destruction of atomic nuclei is determined. The beam of relativistic ions is accelerated up to the energy at which by destruction of the target material two and more generations of products of multifragmentary destruction of atomic nuclei are obtained, and intra nuclear energy is release within the time exceeding the duration of accumulation and replacement of products of destruction by material for radiation. While the flow of secondary particles is utilised, and the irradiated material is cooled and used for processing as raw materials for extraction of the substances suitable for the subsequent use.
EFFECT: improvement of efficiency of conversion of nuclear energy into thermal and utilisation of long-living radionuclides of wide nomenclature.
