FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of nitric acid production. The method of nitric acid production includes an influence by conditions on a gaseous raw material of an oxidation installation, which consists, at least, in fact of ammonia, vapour and an oxidising gas, resulting in the oxidation of ammonia with obtaining a reaction mixture, including nitrogen monoxide and water vapour, with further cooling the reaction mixture in a heat exchanger, resulting in the oxidation of nitrogen monoxide and condensation of water vapour; products of nitrogen monoxide oxidation interact with condensed water and are absorbed by the said water; and in fact all nitrogen monoxide in the reaction mixture is transformed into nitric acid.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain diluted nitric acid without the application of an absorption column and without the necessity to perform decolouration.
