FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: frequency converter comprises a semiconductor switch coupled to a secondary circular winding of a transformer with a rotating magnetic field. A pulse-phase control system ensures the growing delay of key control signals, which switch taps of the circular winding so that each next switching of the circular winding pair has a period bigger for a certain value defined by the frequency conversion ratio thus providing frequency decrease for the output voltage first harmonic.
EFFECT: increased reliability due to non-availability of a capacitor and intermediate DC-link in the power circuit, improved quality of output voltage with its potential improvement due to the introduction of auxiliary taps of the circular winding and optimised electromagnetic compatibility of the device with supply mains.
