SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device for opening and closing a cover which device is made in vehicle body. The device includes articulated four-link chain provided with opened position supporting mechanism which contains: hitch pin protruding from rear end part of the second articulated arm; supporting pin protruding from area of base of elongated element of multilink mechanism bracket; arrestor catch with central area where this arrester catch is rotatably mounted on supporting pin; and power spring which pulls the arrester catch in one direction relative to supporting pin as the centre. The arrester catch has guiding surface; concaved engagement area being coupled with hitch pin. The guiding area contacts with the hitch pin when cover opening operation is performed, and contact position between them is moved towards the centre in accordance with turning relative to supporting pin as the centre which turning is performed against pulling force acting from the side of power spring.
