FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical processing of wood and sulphation of microcrystalline cellulose. Water-soluble sulphates of microcrystalline cellulose are widely used as blood anticoagulants, toxic metal sorbents, immunomodulators and antiviral agents. Sulphation of microcrystalline cellulose is carried out with a mixture of sulphamic acid and urea in N,N-dimethyl formamide or diglyme while boiling and stirring intensely for 1-4 hours, and the sulphated microcrystalline cellulose is separated by neutralising the reaction mass with 75% aqueous ethanol solution containing 3% sodium hydroxide, dissolving the obtained product in water and purifying the product by dialysis.
EFFECT: improved method.
