FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fragrant 3,6-diazahomoadamantan-9-ones, having the structure , where R is methoxyl, R' is hydrogen, R is hydroxyl, R' is methoxyl. The invention also relates to a method of producing fragrant 3,6-diazahomoadamantan-9-ones, which includes condensation of fragrant ketones with tetramethylene diethylenetetramine in isopropyl alcohol at room temperature in the presence of glacial acetic acid, extracting the obtained products after condensation of the reaction mass under a vacuum with hot n-heptane and recrystallisation from the n-haptane. The tetramethylene diethylenetetramine is obtained in the same reactor via condensation of ethylenediamine with formaldehyde.
EFFECT: wider range of fragrant 3,6-diazahomoadamantan-9-ones, which can be used in perfume compositions.
