FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: method of determination of density of solid materials includes the consecutive determination of weight of the vessel with liquid, determination of weight of the studied material sample, determination of weight of the vessel with liquid and the studied material sample placed in liquid and the subsequent mathematical calculation of material density. Meanwhile for measurements a vessel with wide mouth is used which is completely filled with liquid then it is closed with the cover which has a sinking ledge which displaces excess liquid from the vessel. Then the liquid is completely removed from outer side of the vessel. Then the vessel weight with liquid is measured, after measurement the liquid level in the vessel is refilled and the studied material sample is placed in the vessel. Then the vessel is closed with the cover with sinking ledge thus displacing the excess liquid from the vessel after that the liquid completely removed from the outer side of the vessel and the vessel weight with liquid and with the studied material sample is measured. The device is a transparent material vessel. Note that the vessel is implemented with a wide mouth, the end face of the vessel mouth edge is implemented as a flat section the external size of which is greater than the size of the external surface of the vessel, and from the external surface of the vessel to the mouth edge the smooth transition is implemented. The device also contains a cover on the lower part of which the sinking ledge is implemented. Note that the external size of the cover is greater than the size of vessel mouth minimum by the gap size between the internal surface of the vessel mouth and the sinking ledge of the cover, and the contacting surfaces of the cover and the vessel mouth are polished.
EFFECT: development of simple method of determination of density of solid materials with expanded possibilities of measurement, improvement of accuracy of measurements, and also devices with simple design for implementation of the offered method.
