FIELD: educational equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for teaching students of secondary educational institutions of different levels in physics lessons. A method for measurement of a volume of bodies of an irregular shape, density of which is less than density of liquid consists in that the body under study is placed in a transparent measuring cylindrical vessel with vertical calibration in volume units. The body under study, in a bag, is preliminary lowered to the vessel, fixed to a bottom, while thread with a ring is used for fixation, which is connected to a vessel eyelet with one end, and is put on a coil handle with the other end with the ring. Liquid is poured in the vessel for complete coverage of the body under study, and a volume of liquid with the body is recorded. Next, after removal of the ring from the coil handle and removal of the body from the vessel, the bag is again immersed in liquid, and a volume of liquid without body is recorded. The difference between these volumes is determined, then, liquid is drained, by means of a vessel tap, to another vessel, and a volume of this liquid is measured with a beaker. The difference between volumes is determined, which is equal to a volume of the bag, thread with a clamp, and a stationary unit with a fastener, and then, the volume of the body under study is determined.

EFFECT: acceleration and simplification of a process of measurement of a volume of different bodies of an irregular shape, density of which is less than density of liquid.
