FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of piston ring whereat metal body has radial outer working surface, radial inner peripheral surface and lateral surfaces extending there between while recess is made on the side of working surface. At least recess bottom has contour other than cylindrical, working surface including recess, is covered with at least one wear-proof ply while section making a scraper edge of at least one wear-proof ply is, at least partially removed to make a preset-width web. At least portions of working surface and/or recess are azotised to apply PVD-ply or sandwiched system on sais working system.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of scraping edge, self-sharpening ability.
