FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a piston ring, containing main element of piston ring made of material with a first thermal expansion factor, a layer for protection against wear, which is located on external surface of piston rings in radial direction and is made of material having a second thermal expansion factor less than first thermal expansion factor. Piston ring further comprises an intermediate layer located between main element of piston ring and a layer for protection against wear, wherein said intermediate layer is made from material with a third thermal expansion factor, greater than first thermal expansion factor.
EFFECT: improved distribution of radial pressing force of piston rings.
