FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalytic neutraliser for reducing toxicity of diesel engine exhaust gases, primarily an oxidative catalytic neutraliser, which is particularly suitable for reducing toxicity of exhaust gases of heavy-duty trucks, when other devices are provided downstream for reducing toxicity of the exhaust gases. The catalytic neutraliser consists of a carrier housing and two catalytically active coatings which differ on composition, of which only one is in direct contact with out-flowing exhaust gases, wherein both coatings contain platinum-group metals - platinum and palladium - as catalytically active components, wherein the coating directly in contact with out-flowing exhaust gases contains more platinum than palladium, and overall contains more platinum-group metal than the coating which is not in direct contact with the out-flowing exhaust gases.
EFFECT: invention provides efficient reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases.
