FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides from exhaust gases (EG) of diesel engines. Catalyst for removal of nitrogen oxides from exhaust gases (EG) of diesel engines consists of a carrier with length L and a catalytically active coating, which may consist of one or more material zones. Material zones contain copper-containing zeolite, respectively copper-containing zeolite-like compound. Said compound is in form of chabazite, SAPO-34, ALPO-34, and β-zeolite. Furthermore, said material zones comprise at least one compound selected from a group comprising barium oxide, barium hydroxide, barium carbonate, strontium oxide, strontium hydroxide, strontium carbonate, praseodymium oxide, lanthanum oxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium and aluminium mixed oxide, alkali metal oxide, alkali metal hydroxide, alkali metal carbonate and mixtures thereof. Also described is a method of reducing content of nitrogen oxides in EG of diesel engines.
EFFECT: technical result is more efficient conversion of NOx in all relevant for NEDC cycle temperature intervals, primarily at low temperatures.
