SUBSTANCE: invention relates to interconnections and particularly to enabling identifier based streams over a PCI Express bus. A packet ordering device comprises: a logic circuit configured to: identify a second transaction made after a first transaction, said second transaction including an identifier based ordering (IDO) attribute, and the first transaction including a sent request; determine that the IDO attribute indicated by the second transaction is established; and enabling said second transaction to bypass said first transaction based at least in part on the established IDO attribute.
EFFECT: ordering request streams to minimise queues.
