SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods for destruction of ice jams, formed during the period of breakup on rivers, especially in the Far North and Far East regions, causing the water level rise and inundation. Method for destruction of ice jams consists in creation of the increased pressure area under the ice cover by means of the dynamic explosive load. For this purpose, ammunition is arranged on the aircraft equipped with the section sounding unit, delivery of ammunition to the desired location and explosive demolition are performed. Aircraft torpedo is used as ammunition. The increased pressure area by the dynamic explosive load is created by means of aircraft torpedo, the shooting of which is carried out from the clean water area below the jam down the river flow, with the given running depth.

EFFECT: provision of rapid destruction of ice jams in the shortest time and prevention of possible floods.
