FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. This process comprises melting of steel sheet metal coating by heating to temperature higher than coating metal fusion point. Heating of performed by irradiation of coating surface with electromagnetic radiation at power density of 0.001-5.0 J/cm2 for not over 10 mcs. Note here that density of power fed to coating by electromagnetic radiation and irradiation time are selected so that this coating is completely fused over its entire depth to interface with steel sheet surface. Thin ply of alloy is produced between said coating and steel sheet. This ply consists of steel sheet iron atoms and coating metal atoms and features depth of 0.05-0.3 g/m2 which corresponds to the weight of said alloy per surface area unit.
EFFECT: higher corrosion resistance.
