FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing of internal combustion engines. The method of controlling the angles of gas distribution the internal combustion engine is useful when operating, at pre-repair and post-repair inspection of engines. Reduction is achieved due to replacement of labour-consuming direct measurements of angles by indirect measurements. The direct measurements are performed in the engine manually deactivated and prepared for the measurements. Indirect measurements are performed automatically by the indicator diagram, recorded in the working engine. To determine the angle of opening of the exhaust valve the diagram is recorded with the activated supply of fuel. To determine the angle of opening of the intake valve the diagram is recorded with the deactivated supply of fuel. On the diagram, the point is found with characteristic change in pressure caused by the opening of the valve. According to the angular coordinate of the found point the deviation of the actual angle of opening of the valve from the nominal value is determined, the resulting deviation is compared with the permissible values, and according to the results of comparison the need to adjust the angle of gas distribution is determined.
EFFECT: use of the method enables to reduce significantly the labour consumption for controlling the angles of gas distribution.
