FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: claimed process allows the control over the engine exhaust gas opacity facilitates the detection of cylinders with faults that cause abnormal opacity. Exhaust opacity is controlled by the fuel combustion parameters in the engine cylinder obtained by the indication diagram processing. The results of control are displayed in mg of unburnt fuel per cubic metre of exhaust gas (mg/m3) and per unit of generated power (mg/kW·h). At computer-aided processing of indication diagrams claimed procedure generates the data on exhaust opacity with no extra costs.
EFFECT: higher process efficiency.
