FIELD: engines and pumps; test equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to testing of internal combustion engines. In disclosed method for synchronising property of pressure diagram is used, varying with change of its angular position and with synchronised position by characteristic feature. Used property performs same function as crankshaft turn angle transducer in used in practice devices for recording of indication diagrams. When using declared method need no sensor, which simplifies and lowers cost of device itself and process of its application. As used property used is dispersion of instantaneous values of exponent compression, which in synchronised position has minimum value. Synchronisation process is started from randomly selected position of beam and is displaced diagram from initial position in steps, determining in each new position of beam value of dispersion and checking whether this value has indicator specific for synchronised position. Once such position is found process is completed with desired result.

EFFECT: technical result is simplification of indicator and process of its application due to exclusion from its design crankshaft turn angle transducer.
