FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes exposing the water to be treated to continuous hydroacoustic action and the residue to waves in the audible and ultrasonic frequency bands. The method employs alternating pulsed - with duration shorter than 1 s, quasi-periodic - with duration of 1-10 s and continuous - with duration longer than 10 s - hydroacoustic signals. The main settling tank used is a first sump 14 of the quarry with collecting ditches. The first additional settling tank used is a second sump 15 of the quarry with drainage pumps. The second additional settling tank used is a primary purification settling tank 19. The third additional settling tank used is a fine purification settling tank 24. The fourth additional settling tank used is a surface filtration field 28. Only the top layer of the quarry water - not more than 10% of the height of the water column - is re-discharged from the collecting ditches through the first and second sumps, as well as through the primary and fine purification settling tanks on the surface filtration field. The amplitude of the sound pressure of the hydroacoustic waves in the audible and ultrasonic frequency bands at a distance of 1 m from the corresponding hydroacoustic emitter is not less than 102 Pa and 101 Pa, respectively.
EFFECT: quality treatment of quarry water, effective consolidation of sediments, ensuring environmental safety.
