FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to cardiology and endocrinology, and describes method of diagnosing inflammation in fatty tissue in case of obesity. Method is characterised by the fact that concentration of neopterin is determined in serum of patients' venous blood by solid-phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and if concentration of neopterine is higher or equals 10 nmol/l, inflammation of fatty tissue is diagnosed.
EFFECT: invention can be applied for estimation of fatty tissue inflammation activity in case of abdominal obesity, which represents basic component of metabolic syndrome (MS), and makes it possible to control clinical course of MS and efficiency of performed therapy.
