FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering of polymer fibres and reinforced polylactic acid fibres. The polylactic acid fibres are obtained from a thermoplastic composition which contains polylactic acid and a polymer reinforcing additive. The reinforcing additive can be dispersed in a continuous polylactic acid phase in the form of discrete physical domains. Said domains have a certain size, shape and distribution and when the fibres are stretched, they absorb energy and take elongated shape. This enables to obtain a composition which is more plastic and softer compared to the rigid polylactic acid which does not contain such domains.
EFFECT: invention enables to form polylactic acid fibres having good mechanical properties - good elongation parameters and high strength.
