SUBSTANCE: printing form is mounted on the front and rear edges between the front and rear means for fastening the plate cylinder, the rear means for fixing moves when force of tension is applied and takes the position of strain relief when fixing the rear end of the printing form. The tension of the printing form is carried out by the original application of force of the nominal tension to the rear means for fastening, thereby causing the rear means for fastening to move from position of tension relief to the position of nominal tension, which is set as the reference position of the rear means for fastening. Then the alignment of printing of the stretched printing form is measured and compared to the target alignment of printing to determine the corrected position of tension of the rear means for fastening, corresponding to the desired alignment of printing. Then the tension of the printing form is relieved. The previously defined adjusted position of tension is set as the new reference position of the rear means for fastening before or after the repeated tensioning of the printing form. If it is necessary, the steps of measuring and adjusting are repeated until the measured alignment of printing does not correspond to the target alignment of printing.
