FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: contents of hydrocarbons in sample of the river network are determined and the maps of their distribution in the area are plotted. Using abnormal values of hydrocarbon content the existence of deposits is obvious. Simultaneously with sampling in the river network the regime samples are made in one or several observation points. The regime sample with the smallest content of hydrocarbons is selected. By relative hydrocarbon content in regime samples and hydrocarbon content in regime sample with the smallest content the correction coefficients at the date of sampling are determined. The values of the hydrocarbon content in samples taken in the river network by dates of sampling taking into account the correction coefficients are recalculated. Using the obtained values the map of locations with abnormal hydrocarbon content is plotted.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of identification of prospects for search of hydrocarbon fields.
