FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: three-dimensional (3D) mapping method, which includes scanning a given portion of an area with association to an external coordinate system; determining spatial coordinates X, Y, Z of points of a laser beam reflected from objects of a given portion of the area; forming a point cloud of all objects of the given portion of the area; sending the scanning results to a computer; recording scans in said computer; obtaining an actual digital point and vector 3D model of the given portion of the area; on said model, selecting a mapping object; determining the boundaries thereof; virtually optimising the route by simulating the motion trajectory within the model using 3D navigation; performing preliminary analysis of the mapped portion; determining filtering parameters for removing from the laser reflection cloud point objects that are not to be mapped; performing filtering in automatic mode.
EFFECT: mapping spatial information by determining accurate values of geometric parameters of mapping objects.
