FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geodetic monitoring and can be used to determine coordinates of a control point of any complex structures, using any area of said structures as a geodetic marker. The set task is solved due to that the method of determining coordinates of a control point of an object using a ground-based laser scanner, according to the invention, is based on using the intersection of three "plane" geometric primitives which are approximated into ground-based laser scanning data. To this end, the ground-based laser scanner performs scanning of a previous visually determined controlled element of the structure of the object with presence of physical intersection of three planes, with linear increment of the scanning step in the range form 1 to 10 mm and mean-square error of approximating "plane" geometric primitives according to operational documentation. Further, based on the intersection of the three plane" geometric primitives, three-dimensional coordinates of the point of the geometric centre of the formed figure are determined, after which a digital vector three-dimensional (3D) model of the point is constructed in space, hereinafter three-dimensional virtual marker.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring coordinates of control points of an object.
