SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method, system and device identifying and determining geometrical, spatial and position characteristics of the products transported by the continuously acting conveyor. The method identifying and determining geometrical, spatial and position characteristics of the products (P) transported by the continuously acting conveyor (2) that moves the products with speed below or equal to the maximum speed (V) of transportation, includes: Reception (100) by at least one image making device (3) , located transversely to the direction (F) of the conveyor movement, and at distance from it at least first series of the successive images showing the same area, through which the conveyor (2) passes on which at least one product (P) is located; identification (101) in the first series of images of the initial image comprising the head part of the product (P), relatively to the direction (F) of movement; reception (102) by means of the image making device (3) at least second successive images showing the product moving along the movement direction (F), with frequency ensuring reception at maximum speed (V) of transportation of the partial overlapping of two successive images; selection (103) on the initial image and on each image of the second series of the successive images showing the said product, of the area (A) of recognition; estimation (104) of the displacement vector of area (A) of recognition between the image on which it was selected, and next image; identification (105) among images of the second series of successive images showing the product (P), final image containing the tail part of the product, relatively to the direction (F) of movement, and processing (106) of the estimated displacement vectors and/or images of the product (P) received in accordance with algorithms of calculation and processing, to obtain art least spatial, geometrical or position data on the said product characteristics.
EFFECT: determination of the geometrical, spatial and position product characteristics with sufficient accuracy and regardless on the possible product slipping/acceleration relatively to the continuously operating conveyor, and the product size, determination of position and/or possible skewing of the products relatively to the longitudinal axis of the conveyor, and identification and recognition of the product, tracking of it position along the production or machine train.
