SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to flame arresters, particularly, to arrester plug-in insert. This invention describes the version of flame arrester insert design. Flame arrester (101) comprises case (120) with passage (112) for fluid communication between first passage end (202b) and second end (202a). Note here that said first passage end comprises flange (204) and insert (104) arranged in said passage, in fact, to fill completely its entire cross-section while insert first end abuts on said flange. Said insert is configured to make a gap between insert first outer surface and passage wall for fluid communication between passage first and second ends. Said insert comprises at least one slit (121) at first end extending along insert first end outer surface to peripheral end of said first end to direct fluid flow through said slit to passage wall and along said gap and insert outer surface to passage second end.
