FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes intensive plastic deformation of the work piece at the temperature below the temperature of recrystallisation of work piece material. The work pieces from titanium or zirconium-niobium alloy are used. Intensive plastic deformation is performed in two stages, at the first stage equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) of a work piece is performed with total number of cycles no less than four, and at the second stage the rotational forging of work piece is performed with step change of the diameter and length at the room temperature.
EFFECT: improvement of mechanical characteristics of bars.
