FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: method for excavation of thick flat coal beds comprises preparing the extraction column, installation of mechanized complex, cutting the lower layer of the bed using a shearer, destruction of subroof mass by thin hydraulic jets, release of the rock mass to the under-dump conveyor. In the subroof mass the degasification wells having the diameter of 90-110 mm are laid in parallel with the directional drilling to the length of the extraction column at a distance of 15-30 m from each other across the width of the extraction column and 1-1.5 m from the roof, which are connected to the degassing network connected by the vacuum pump. The destruction of the subroof mass by thin hydraulic jets and unloading the rocks is carried out at a distance equal to twice the width of the extracted split by the shearer from the tail of the roof support.
EFFECT: invention enables to improve the level of safety of mining operations by degassing the extraction column and improvement of conditions of the working face ventilation.
