FIELD: textiles, paper.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of paper, plastics, paints, concrete or in agriculture. The method of production of suspensions of particles of pigment-self-binder comprises providing an aqueous suspension of pigment material and providing at least one polymeric binder. The polymeric binder comprises at least one polysaccharide comprising units of galactose and/or mannose. The binder is mixed with the said suspension of the pigment material. And the binder is added to the aqueous suspension in an amount of 0.05 wt % to 10 wt % with respect to the total weight of the suspension. The resulting suspension is milled. The pigment material comprises calcium carbonate.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a pigment suspension having a low binder content, high biodegradability and microbiological stability, to improve the strength of paper products comprising pigment material, to reduce the cost of materials.
